Meet our Brave Heroes

Leeyah Lerato Rakgaba

Our paths crossed with Leeyah when she started promoting her son Lelo Mofokeng’s book: ‘’How I survived bullying”.  Lelo was bullied at the young age of six.  He is an amazing little man and has now written a book on his bully experience, a must read for all!  Lelo is also one of our Kid’s Ambassadors.  Leeyah is a business woman an owner of Top Notch Marketing, an events and catering company.  Leeyah is also a cake artist, a ‘’momager’’ and author.  She is also a philanthropist and works along her son’s foundation “Lelo Kingston Cares” which helps different charities and organizations.  Leeyah loves children and believes they hold the key to changing our world.

She believes that if we can teach them at a young age to be good people they will grow up to be amazing human beings.  Her dream is to do away with poverty as she believes it’s the biggest contributor to social problems such as crime.

Leeyah’s motto: ‘’always stand up for what you believe in, even if you stand alone’’.

We nominated Leeyah as one of our first Brave Heros because of the way she handled and supported Lelo’s bullying incident and she is an example to many parents by motivating and teaching Lelo the values of life.

Isebella van Rhyn

Isebella Van Rhyn is a 17-year-old pupil from High School Fichardtpark in Bloemfontein. She is a gentle person, with the heart of a Lion. She believes that you should do to others as you would like to be done to yourself. Therefor we should be there for one another even in difficult times.

She makes time to help other people even if she is going through difficult times herself. She believes that if people may disappoint you God will never disappoint you. She is always greatful for everything even if it’s just a smile.  She starts every day with a good heart because she believes that today may be the yesterday that you were worried about.

She partakes in beauty pageants and recently she was awarded the title of Miss Teen Mzantzi Free State first princess and received a reward for Senior Personality. She serves on her schools’ ATKV youth branch.

She would like to stand up against bullying because she knows how it feels to never be good enough and to be robbed of her childhood joy.  Her best friend and two brothers (7 and 10 years) were also bullied and she feels that she must do something to stand up for what is right.

She believes everybody deserves a place in the sun.  Therefor, she stands up against bullying and supports Project Brave Heart with their great cause.

We at Project Brave Heart would like to see more young people stand up against bullying and help others who can’t do so themselves.  We salute you Isebella and we are proud to have you as one of our first Brave Heroes who would like to encourage other children to stand up against bullying.
